Dance Party

Last week I made tortillas with my Design Studio team. Meagan brought us some sort of tortilla flour and we mixed with water, mashed, and skilleted. I give props to the idea. As we only had one rolling pin I started shaping my tortillas by hand into letters. I made a "J" for Josh, but he thought it was, and I quote, "A ghetto tortilla" so I gave it to Katie. Overall I would say we had a lot of fun and got pretty messy...see the picture to the left. That was Stephen modeling the great tortilla dough.

This past weekend I went to a leadership conference with one of my organizations. It was in Michigan, quite a trek from Nebraska. However, we passed a city called Climax on the way there and back which made the entire 14 hour drive worth while. Of course Allie and I had to get out to take pictures near Climax. I personally think it turned out excellent.

Driving through Iowa (yes, I spent 28 hours of my weekend in the car so bear with me) we saw the most amazing sunset. The colors were absolutely gorgeous...of course my camera isn't of the quality needed to get a picture of this while moving so I got the picture on the left. The colors still kind of shine through but I think it turned out either way. This is the best picture of Iowa I have ever taken ;)

Sporadic Musings

This wasn't an incredibly exciting week. It looked like it was going to snow a few times, but then it didn't. My week was pretty packed, but the weekend has been good to me thus far. Last night I went out with Meagan, Jesse and Yuliy. We visited a few of the establishments downtown that I had never been to before. This is a picture of the "sword fight" we were having with our straws at Duffy's. These things are longer than my arms. I could practically smack Jessie from across the table. We also visited Barrymores which turned out to be a very classy place. It is built behind the Rococo theater. Meagan said that the Rococo used to be an actual theater and where Barrymores is now used to be the backstage area for said theater. I tried to get a good picture of the building, but it was simply too dark.

Today I took a trip to Wal-Mart. Probably the most exciting part of my day. I discovered what I will refer to as my best purchase of the year. For only fifty cents I picked up these styling glasses! I feel a little like Elton John in them, but I am pretty excited for St. Patrick's day now. Josh is apparently requiring that I wear them to team time at least once. Who knows, they might increase my productivity.

And it begins...

So Tim gave me the great idea of documenting my weeks in pictures. I will try to keep this up. Every week I will post one or more pictures that really describe the highs and/or lows of my week. Hopefully I'll get a good collection of memories before I graduate from college.

Really it's just a good excuse to drag my camera along everywhere. So we'll begin...

The high of my week was the AMAZING snow we had on Monday. It was that perfect fluffy snow that makes you want to stand outside with your arms wide open. Snowball fight snow. I missed getting a picture of the snow while it was falling because I was in Japanese class, but this view of the Union made me really happy.

Another great moment was Thursday at pride activity. Kate and I were having a contest to see who could get the Oreo to their mouth faster without dropping it or touching it. Basically, you lick the Oreo, stick it to your forehead and squeeze your face muscles to get it to your mouth. I failed miserably and ended up with Oreo goo all over my face.
